Hello, everyone! Assalamualaikum and welcome back to my weekly blog. I hope you're all in good health. InsyaAllah, I'd like to talk about IIUM's Sustainable Development Field Work and Project Initiatives this week.
As Dr. Razinah said, we should look around IIUM this week and see the projects that have been done by IIUM communities. But since we are using remote control, we could not do that. IIUM is now working to alter the livelihood of people of Desa Sejahtera as part of the university's Whole Institution Transformation (WIT) towards Whole Community Transformation (WCT) mission.
We can realise the truth that not everyone is wealthy, and we can learn about them and their needs. It satisfies our obligations as neighbours. In Islam, it is highly emphasised to treat your neighbours with respect, such as by respecting their rights.
Every Thanksgiving we gather around the table and give thanks for our family, friends and the good food we’re about to eat. But what about the rest of the year? Starting a daily practice of gratitude can help you recognize the positive in your life instead of focusing on the negative. And being thankful and grateful for all the good things you have can actually make you happier. We can comprehend their needs rather than giving them pity by engaging in Desa Sejahtera. People aren't looking for pity; they're looking for genuine help.
