Assalamualaikum and welcomed back everyone! This week was a hectic weeks for me! But I need to write at my blog to share something new for you guys! As you can see the word above was "Sejahtera". So obviously I'm going to talk about what is Sejahtera and how the implication of Sejahtera on Sustainable Development and the application of Sejahtera in daily life.
UNESCO : They think that we need to change the way we think and act in order to achieve sustainable development at all levels and in all social settings because Sustainable development cannot be achieved by technological solutions, political regulation or financial instruments alone.
To further enhance the concept of Sustainable Development, indigenous (local) knowledge, as well as faiths and traditional beliefs, should be taken into account. This is shown to be important in order to improve Sustainable Development based, balanced, and harmonic relationships. Sustainable Development application at the indigenous or local stage requires concept that pertains to the indigenous and local community.
Tan Sri Dzulkifli Abdul Razak is currently the Rector of International Islamic University Malaysia for perhaps the first time introduced the idea of "Sejahtera" as a local concept tied to SD at the local level. The concept of Sejahtera was introduced, starting from a local university, University Science Malaysia (USM), which later it is promoted in a bigger scale to campus life at International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM).
Sejahtera is an Islamic notion of well-being that encompasses success, happiness, security, and harmony in this life and the next. Sejahtera as a concept refers to "a condition of complete and integrated wellness consisting of success, unfettered physical and emotional well-being," according to the Islamization approach.
